  구덴 카롤루스 GOUDEN CAROLUS

  600년 역사의 신성로마제국 황제가 마시던 황제의 맥주

  구덴 카롤루스는 메헬렌의 오랜 역사에서 유래한 브랜드입니다. 신성로마제국의 황제 카를 5세는 중세 유럽을 통일한 최초의 황제입니다. 카를 5세는 벨기에의 메헬렌에서 유년기를 보냅니다. 황제가 되어 스페인에 머물며 여우사냥을 위해 메헬렌을 찾았다고 합니다.
  
  구덴 카롤루스라는 브랜드는 여우사냥 시 최고의 사냥개에게 하사하던 황금동전에서 유래하였으며, 여우사냥의 갈증을 달래 주던 맥주의 브랜드가 되었습니다. 구덴은 황금동전을 카롤루스는 카를 5세를 뜻합니다. 이후 카를 5세의 황금동전은 중세 유럽의 최초의 통화라는 역사적인 의미를 가집니다.
  
  브루어리 헷 앵커는 역사적인 구덴 카롤루스의 레시피를 계승해 다양하고 밸런스가 뛰어난 벨지안 스트롱 에일을 양조하고 있습니다.
  
  Gouden Carolus originated from the old history of Mechelen. Charles 5th was the 1st emperor who unified the Middle age of Europe. The Charles 5th grew in Mechelen of Belgium. After he became the emperor, he visited the Mechelen for fox hunting while he lived in Spain.
  
  The Gouden Carolus originated from the 'Carolus Guilder' which gave to the fox-hound, it became the name of beer which quencehd the thirst of hunting. 'Gouden' means the golden coin and 'Caorlus' means the Charles 5th. After then the Carolus Guilder became the first currency of the Middle age of Europe.
  
  The Brewery Het Anker makes various well-balanced Belgian Strong Ales that succeed the historical Gouden Carolus recipe.
